Clearing the cloud file storage

Any file that you share in a chat or that you directly upload in the file storage is deducted from your accessible storage space.
Forwarding a file does not take additional storage space. Forwarded files are only available as a “shortcut” in the chat history, but they can regularly be downloaded from there. If the original file of the forwarded file is deleted, the forwarded file will also be deleted.

Delete files via your personal file storage

In your personal file storage you can overview any file that you have uploaded. Your storage is split into the sections “Personal” (files directly uploaded into your storage) and “Chats” (files uploaded by you in channels/conversations) You can delete files here to free cloud storage space for you.

When deleting a file from the “Chats” section it will automatically be deleted from the chat history and “Shared files” of that chat and other users can no longer access it.

Clearing storage with Android:

1. Select the options at the top left to open the menu.

2. Select Files.

3. There you can change between “Personal” and “Chats” storage spaces.

4. Select the file and tap on the symbol on the right side to open the menu where you can delete the file:

   1. If you tap on the file and hold it, a marking process will start and you can select additional files.

   2. After selecting all desired files you can open the menu by tapping the symbol to delete the files.

5. At the bottom you can see how much available cloud storage you have.

Clearing storage with iOS:

1. Select the options at the top left to open the menu.

2. Select Files.

3. There you can change between “Personal” and “Chats” storage spaces.

4. You can tap on a file and swipe to the left to delete the file, or you can tap the file and hold until a menu appears, where you can also delete it.

   1. You can tap on the symbol and choose “Select objects” so that you can check multiple files to delete them at once.

5. At the top you can see how much cloud storage you have used currently.

Clearing storage with web-/desktop client:

1. Select the symbol at the left side to open the file storage.

2. There you can change between “Personal” and “Chats” storage spaces.

3. On the right side of a file you can click on the symbol to open a menu where you can delete the file.

   1. With the checkboxes you can mark multiple files to delete them at once.

4. At the bottom you can see how much cloud storage you have used currently.
