Allow file import and export/Share links

As an administrator, you can configure whether users can upload and export files from their mobile devices. Saving files to the Stashcat file storage is not affected by this. Users can still upload and download files from the web/desktop client.

You can prevent the creation of share links with people outside the organization.

Please note that some settings in the organization settings may take a few minutes to take effect and may require a client to be reloaded. This means that files could still be downloaded shortly after the setting has been changed.

  1. Click on Settings.svg "Settings".

  2. A menu will open. Click on "Organization settings".

  3. Click on "Settings" under the heading "Organization settings" on the left.

  4. You have a range of settings options. Scroll to the three entries "Export content to mobile devices", "Import content from mobile devices" and "File sharing via links". You can activate the switches independently of each other to limit user options:

    1. Export content to mobile devices: Documents and content received on mobile devices can be copied and saved externally. These functions can be disabled, the functions are activated as default.

    2. Importing content on mobile devices: Documents and content on mobile devices can be shared with others. These functions can be disabled, the functions are activated as default.

    3. File sharing via links: Files from users' file folders can be shared with configurable links with external users. This feature can be used with mobile devices as well as with desktop and web applications. If the function has been deactivated, no links can be created.

Additional information can be displayed for share links created in stashcat. This includes the file name, upload date, which user uploaded it, how often the file has been opened and downloaded, which user created the link, and when.
