Encrypted channels can only be created via the channel overview of users. When creating a channel, the channel type is already defaults to the setting "encrypted". For more information on channel creation, see in the article Create a channel.
The creator of the channel is automatically the channel manager and can promote other members to channel managers or demote other channel managers to channel members via the channel info.
Messages in an encrypted channel are end-to-end encrypted. For more information on encryption, see the article Information regarding encryption.
Depending on the channel settings, all channel members or only managers can invite other users to an encrypted channel. Depending on the channel settings, it is also possible to find the encrypted channel in the channel search and send a join request. If the channel is "hidden," this is not possible. For more information, see the article Joining a channel.
Only users who are already activated and have therefore created an encryption password can be invited to an encrypted channel.
Only members of the channel can read the channel's messages.
