Rename files

You can rename files in your file storage.

Please note that in some chats, you can only move, rename, and delete files that you have uploaded yourself. In channels, channel managers can move, rename, and delete all files.

In the web/desktop client

  1. Navigate to the file you want to rename within a file storage. (If you see the file in the chat history, go to the "Shared files" overview by clicking on the Info.svg in the top right corner and search for the file there.)

  2. Click on the Navigation.Vertical.svg icon to the right of the file name.

  1. A menu will open. Click on "rename File".

  1. The "Rename file" view will open. Enter the new file name.

  1. Click on "Rename”.

In iOS

  1. Navigate to the file you want to rename within a file storage location. (If you see the file in your chat history, go to the "Shared Files" overview by tapping on the chat name at the top and search for the file there.)

  2. Tap and hold the file.

  1. A menu will open. Tap "Rename".

  1. The "Rename file" view opens. Enter the new file name.

  1. Tap "Rename".

In Android

  1. Navigate to the file you want to rename within a file storage. (If you see the file in the chat history, go to the "Shared Files" overview by tapping on the chat name at the top and search for the file there.)

  2. Tap the Navigation.Vertical.svg icon to the right of the file name.

  1. A menu will open. Tap "Rename".

  1. The "Rename file" view will open. Enter the new file name.
