Create a video conferece via Chat Bot

If your user role has either "Add users by link" or "Create broadcast-lists" activated, you are able to create a video conference via our Chat Bot.

How-To-Guide

  1. Create a conversation with the user "Chat Bot".

  2. Send this user the message "/meet".

  3. If you have the required permission, and the Chat Bot can see you in the contacts, he will send you two messages:

    1. In one message you will find the administration link to start the video conference and manage it. (You may want to manually change your name because only your first name will be transferred from the messenger.)

    2. The other message includes the invitation link for other users. Other users can only join via this link.

  4. Send the invitation link to the other users.


If you as a user are unable to start a conversation with the “Chat Bot” user, this may be because your communication has been restricted by contact groups. In this case, please refer your administrator to the following article: Enable the Chat Bot for users with limited communication.

It is also possible that your organization has not yet activated the “Video Conferencing” module. Please refer your administration to the article Activate additional tools (Calender, surveys, jitsi-videoconferences and more).

Duration of video conferences

Both provided links are only valid for two hours after being sent by the Chat Bot.

If two hours have passed, users who leave the video conference will no longer be able to join. Other users, that are still in the conference will still be able to stay in it and they will not be automatically removed.
