Notification settings

The app stashcat can notify your devices when, for example, you receive new messages in conversations. This article explains how you can turn push notifications on and off.

Set notifications in general

In the web/desktop client:

  1. Click on Settings.svg "Settings."

  2. Click on "Notifications" under the heading "Client."

  3. Here you can enable and disable desktop notifications.

In iOS:

  1. Tap on the menu_24dp_1F1F1F_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz24.svg menu .

  2. Tap Settings.svg "Settings" to the right of your username

  3. Tap "Notifications."

  4. Here you can configure the following settings:

    1. You can turn notifications on and off individually for channels, group conversations, and conversations, as well as edit the sound. To do this, press the corresponding switch and select the desired sound from the list.

    2. You can set whether a preview of the message content is included in the notification. To do this, press the "Show preview" button.

    3. You can decide individually whether push notifications are displayed as banners, contain sound or vibration while using apps. To do this, tap "In-app-notifications" and select the desired options.

    4. Email notification: You can also activate whether you want to be notified via email. In any case, you will receive an email when a new device logs in, provided your email address has been confirmed.

    5. To grant the Stashcat app the necessary permissions for push notifications, tap the "App settings" button. This will take you to the required location in your device settings.

    6. To reset your settings, tap the "Reset" button at the bottom of the page.

In Android:

  1. Tap the menu_24dp_1F1F1F_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz24.svg menu .

  2. Tap on Settings.svg "Settings" to the right of your username.

  3. Tap on "Notifications"

  4. Here you can configure the following settings:

    1. Enable Do Not Disturb: Disable notifications during a set time period. Tap on "Do not disturb" then tap on the displayed date to change the time period. If you have not yet set a time period, tap on the + at the bottom right.

    2. Turn off push notifications: Tap the switch.

    3. You can set whether a preview of the message content is displayed in the notification. To do this, press the "Censor push messages" switch.

    4. In-app notifications: You can disable push notifications while using other apps by toggling the switch.

    5. Advanced settings: To determine whether banners, badges, and messages are allowed on the lock screen, tap "Advanced settings." You can also turn the sound and vibration alerts together. In addition, under "Notification categories" to select in which cases you want to receive a notification (e.g., channel messages, group conversations).

    6. Troubleshoot: If you are not receiving push notifications, you can tap "Troubleshooting" to check all settings on your device that could restrict the sending of notifications (e.g., power saving modes). If you have made any restrictive settings, this will be displayed and you can tap to go to the relevant location in the device settings.

  5. If you want to enable email notifications, tap "Email notifications" instead. Tapping the switch there will enable notifications to be sent to your email address if it has been confirmed.
