Merging accounts

If you already have an account it is possible that you join another organization with your account.

To join another organization, you need a 10- or 29-digit registration key of that organization. You can receive them from that organization’s administration.

What happens when merging an account

Your account will be added to another organization so that you have access to that organization’s contacts and channels.

Your first-/lastname and your profile picture will now be used for all of your organizations. If your name is changed by the administration for in organization, it will be changed for the other organizations as well.

If you want to have different names for your organizations, you need to create a separate account with a different email adress.

Merging accounts in the application

If you are logged into your current account, you can join another organization with the following steps:

Merging in Android/iOS:

  1. Select the menu_24dp_1F1F1F_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz24.png options at the top left to open the menu.

  2. Select Settings.svg settings.

  3. Open “Organizations”.

  4. Tap on the "+" at the top right and fill in the registration key.

If you now open the menu again you will see your different organizations listed below, where you can select a specific organization to open its specific contacts/channels.
In the “Conversations” section you will see conversations of any organization.

Merging in Web-/Desktopclient:

  1. Select the menu_24dp_1F1F1F_FILL0_wght400_GRAD0_opsz24.png options at the top left to open the menu.

  2. Select Settings.svg settings.

  3. Select "Organizations".

  4. Select “New Organization” at the top right and fill in your registration key.

Now you see the icons of your organizations at the bottom left above the Settings.svg symbol. Select an icon to open the organization, to view its specific contacts and channels.
In the “Conversations” section you will see conversations of any organization.


Merging accounts during registration process

If you already created an account with your email adress and then fill in the same email adress during the registration, you will be asked if you want to merge the accounts.
This needs to be authorized with your account password.
After successful authorization you will see a message, confirming the merge of your accounts and that you can log in with your login credentials.

If you want to have two seperate accounts, you need to cancel the registration and start it again but with a different email adress.
