Set password guidelines

You can define guidelines for the account password and encryption password. Users of your organization have to follow these guidelines. If the guidelines are disabled, the default settings take effect (Passwords must have at least 8 characters)

  1. Click the Settings.svg icon.

  2. Select "Organization Settings."

  3. Click "Password guidelines" in the "Organization Settings" area.

  4. Select the "Password guidelines disabled" switch.

  5. Set the minimum length of the password.

  6. Select whether a password must contain uppercase and lowercase letters, special characters, or digits.

  7. Click on "Save" at the bottom.

Please note that all changes to the password guidelines only take effect when the account password/encryption password is reassigned or changed. Already existing passwords of the users keep their previous validity.

Note: If an LDAP / AD connection has been configured for your organization, the password guidelines only apply to the encryption password. The account password equates to the password set at the connected directory service.
