Edit manager status (Admin)

As an administrator, you can promote channel members to managers and revoke the manager rights of channel managers. This feature is particularly important for organization-wide channels and contact group channels, as these channels are created by the administration and therefore the channel creator cannot fulfill the channel manager role.

Please note that each channel must always have at least one channel manager.

Please note that although the setting option you use to edit manager rights is called "Edit managers & members," it does not allow you to add or remove members from the channel.

If you want to remove members from contact group channels, you can edit the contact group as an admin. In the other channels, you can only edit memberships as an admin if you are already a channel member. In this case, follow the instructions in this article to appoint yourself as channel manager and then remove the person as channel manager. Read the article Remove channel members for more information.

Adding members (with the exception of contact group channels and organization-wide channels) can only be done by the user to be added. As a member of a channel, you can only invite other users.
