You can create new events in the calendar module. You can create private events and invite any number of users to your event individually. You can create a channel event and automatically send an invitation to selected channels. If you have the appropriate permissions, you can create public events that are visible to the entire organization.
Enter event information
In the web/desktop client

Click the calendar icon in the left sidebar.

Click on the + in the top right corner. If you select the day for the event you want to create in the event view beforehand, this day will already be preselected in the creation dialog.

The "Create event" view opens. Here you have the following options:

You must give the event a name. Enter it in the "Name" text field.

You can enter a location in the "Location" text field.

You can enter additional information in the "Note" text field.

You must specify the time period of the event. Click the "All day" button to create the event without a time. All-day events are displayed above the times in the day and week views. Enter a start and end date by clicking on the "From" and "To" fields respectively. A calendar view with a time display will open. below. Select the start/end time from the view or enter it in the text field.

You can create the event repeatedly. Click on the "Repeat" selection field and select from "Never," "Daily," "Weekly," “Monthly” or "Yearly". A biweekly section is not selectable.

Inviting users to the event/display options for the event
You can create private events and invite any number of users to your event individually. You can create a channel event and automatically send an invitation to selected channels. If you have the appropriate permissions, you can create public events that are visible to the entire organization.
In the web/desktop client

Here you can choose between "Private", "Channel" and, if you have the appropriate permissions, "Public":

Private: The event appears in your private calendar (green). You can invite as many other users as you like to your private event. To do this, click on the search field under "Invite users (optional)" and enter the name of the user you want to invite. You can filter the list by contact groups. To do this, click on the
icon on the right. A list of your organization's contact groups will open. You can use the search field to search for contact group names. Invited users will be notified of your event invitation. -
Channel: The event appears in the calendar of the channel you invite (blue). Search for the name of the channel you want to invite in the search field under "Choose channels". You can invite multiple channels to the event; the event will then be displayed in the event overview as soon as at least one of the calendars of these channels is displayed. You can notify the members of the selected channels about the event invitation by checking the "Send Notifications" slider.

Public: If you have the necessary permissions, you can create a public event. All members of your organization can view the event (red). If you check the "Send Notifications" box, all users in the organization will be notified of this event.

To do this, tap the field under "Invited participants" and tap the + in the top right corner. A list of all users and contact groups will appear. Enter the name of the user you want to invite to find them in the list. Tap on a user or contact group to invite them to the event. You can filter the list by contact groups. To do this, tap on the circled
icon in the upper right corner. A list of your organization's contact groups will open. You can search for contact group names by scrolling down a bit and entering the name in the search field that appears. Once you have set the filter, tap "Back" in the upper left corner. After selecting the users you want to invite, tap "Done" in the upper right corner. Then tap on "Back" in the top left corner. Invited users will be notified of your event invitation. -
Channel: The event will appear in the calendar of the channel you invite (blue). Tap the "Invited channels" field and tap the check mark in the upper right corner +. A list of all channels will appear. Tap on the name of the channel you want to invite. After making your selection, tap on the check mark in the upper right corner and then tap on "Back" in the upper left corner. You can invite multiple channels to the event; the event will then be displayed in the event overview as soon as at least one of the calendars of these channels is displayed. You can notify the members of the selected channels about the event invitation by activating the "Notify channels" switch.

Public: If you have the appropriate permissions, you can create a public event. All members of your organization can view the event (red). If you select the "Notify participants" switch, all users in the organization will be notified of this event.

You can notify the members of the selected channels about the by clicking the "Notify members" button.

Organization: If you have the necessary permissions, you can create a public event. All members of your organization can view the event (red). If you select the "Notify members" button, all users in the organization will be notified of this event.
